Press Release:

UnitedLex Chief Intellectual Property Officer, Lata Setty, to Speak at 12th Annual Richard C. Sughrue Symposium at The University of Akron

Overland Park, KS (March 3, 2010) - UnitedLex, a global provider of technology enabled legal and business solutions, today announced that Chief Intellectual Property Officer Lata Setty will speak on innovation and ethics in intellectual property at The 12th Annual Richard C. Sughrue Symposium on Intellectual Property Law and Policy in Akron, Ohio on March 8, 2010.   Exploring strategic options to manage cost and the inherent ethical considerations involved, the program will address major issues affecting intellectual property, and the risk-benefit balance that in-house counsel face in getting the work done, while legal budgets continue to shrink in 2010.

“This exchange will provide critical insights to both new and experienced in-house counsel including budgeting, procedural and governance implications,” emphasized Ms. Setty.  “Each audience member will garner data points to enable greater predictability and discipline in managing their legal budgets.”

Addressing fundamental questions that arise when driving transformation in the legal industry, this program will include presentations by leading practitioners on the legal and ethical implications of optimizing IP services, including patent litigation, and Export Control Compliance concerns.

The 12th Annual Richard C. Sughrue Symposium on Intellectual Property Law and Policy will be held in John S. Knight Center at The University of Akron on March 8, 2010 beginning at 8:00am.
