Piyush Gupta
Senior Vice President, Legal Services
Piyush is a senior corporate attorney at UnitedLex. In his current role, he interacts with senior client executives and provides counsel by way of general guidance and oversight for various customer accounts. In addition, he also performs the General Counsel role for the company in India, advising on key contractual terms/issues as well as providing broader advice and counsel.
Prior to UnitedLex, Piyush served as an Assistant General Counsel of UTStarcom Inc., a leading telecom wire line equipment manufacturer, where he was part of their Global Leadership Team. At UTStarcom, he set up the legal department for their South Asia operations as well as a global Legal Resource Center. Prior to UTStarcom, Piyush served as a Counsel for many years in the Washington, D.C. office of O'Melveny & Myers LLP.
At various times in his career, Piyush has been responsible for defining legal and compliance processes, risk mitigation strategies, conducting training, drafting and reviewing commercial agreements (government tenders, purchase agreements, service provider agreements, vendor agreements, intellectual property license agreements, and joint venture agreements), managing litigation, and assisting with tax and regulatory compliance.
